Everyday S’mores - Make them indoors!


Indoor S'mores

Summary: Every one loves s’mores. Why wait for the charred marshmallows of a campfire? Make them inside! Less bugs too.

Ingredients:

  • Graham Crackers
  • Marshmallows
  • Some form of chocolate (Hershey’s kisses in my case)


Directions:

(If you are using a thin chocolate bar, then you can skip Steps 1-3, as it will melt easily.)
1. Place chocolate in bowl, and put in microwave for 30 seconds.
2. Take it out, and stir for 10 seconds. If it is all melted, proceed to Step 4.
3. If it’s not melted (see pic below), put it in the microwave for another 30 seconds. Repeat until melted, remembering to stir for 10 seconds each time and not to go longer than 30 seconds as to not burn the chocolate.
4. Set a graham cracker on the plate.
5. Put a dollop of chocolate on the cracker. It’s ok if it’s getting hard again.
6. Set marshmallow on top of cracker and chocolate.
7. Place in microwave. Set timer for thirty seconds on High.
8. When the marshmallow starts to expand, stop the microwave! The time will vary for each microwave.
9. Promptly place 2nd graham cracker on top of everything and smoosh down.
10. Repeat steps 4-9 as needed. (You’re gonna need. ;) )

Cost:
The entire box of graham crackers cost $2.00.
The bag of marhmallows was about two bucks too.
The chocolate was just laying around in my cupboard
I’d say the per s’more cost is about 10 cents!

Final comments:
This is a great date or get-together dessert. It’s really easy, and will evoke warm fuzzy feelings from everyone who eats it. I think I’m going to make another one now…
