Carnival of Recipes
I’m getting back into reading food blogs again. This week’s Carnival of Recipes is up at Men In Aprons. I don’t own an apron, but those images are might tasty!

I think everyone has a few food combos that they secretly enjoy. I know mine have grown out of bachelorhood and basically having to eat what’s left in the fridge. Here are some of the weirder ones:
Deli Turkey meat and Peanut Butter Sandwiches
Bologna and Cream Cheese Sandwiches
Can you imagine how hungry I was to try these for the first time? But they’ve grown on me!
I’ve been pitiful at blogging about my easy eats. Obviosuly, as I am still alive, I have still be eating my easy eats. But my initial goal of keeping track of my (some may say too) simple recipes remains the same.
So I will try to keep writing them down, although I will probably have to go light on the pictures as they take the most time to take, crop, resize, sharpen, and coax into looking purrrty. Which is sad though, becuase I love them so.

This looks pretty neat, you can just bring in your knifes to Sur La Table this month and get them sharpened for free. My Santoku is getting a bit dull, even with the honing steel…
Some restrictions apply; we are unable to sharpen damaged/serrated/ceramic knives and scissors. Additional knives sharpened for $1/inch. See store for complete details. Offer ends April 30, 2006.

No longer works… bummer! Try this for free Luna bar instead.
Although I think I’m still actually digesting Thanksgiving dinner, here are some pics I took (click to enlarge). It was very semi-homemade, and there was two packages of butter involved so it was gooooooood.

There was also pumpkin pie from Costco and cheesecake with blueberries for dessert. Man just looking at it again makes me feel full!
I’ve had green tea and I’ve had green tea ice cream before, but this is the first time I’ve had green tea mochi ice cream. It was… interesting. It’s like a chewy doughy funky-tasting outside around a small ball of green tea ice cream. I don’t really get the combination. Chocolate-dipped ice cream I get. Rolled in nuts? I get. Shrug. Although my pictures make them look humongous (I used tiny bowls for fun), they are actually only about 2 inches in diameter.
Second of all, the box says “Artificial Flavor Added”. Fake green tea flavor? I’m also guessing that this stuff is not naturally flourescent green. All in all, these are easy desserts, but I’ll stick to Ben & Jerry’s.
Another Asian meal-in-a-box! Well, not really, it’s basically just a sauce packet, but add in some meat (if you want), veggies, tofu, and rice - and it’s a spicy Chinese meal! You can find these sauces in most Asian groceries as well and even in some mega-marts, they are relatively popular.
